Adjunct Professor Wayne Quilliam is one of Australia's pre-eminent Indigenous photographic artists, curators and cultural advisors working on the international scene. In 2022 alone he was the winner of the National Photographic Portrait Prize, British Journey of Photography Decade of Change Award and Koori Heritage Trust City of Melbourne Art Award. Other significant awards include the 2009 NAIDOC Indigenous Artist of the Year, 2008 Human Rights Media Award and 2008 Walkley Award for photojournalism. Wayne's role as Creative Director and Cultural Advisor of 'Connection', the world's largest Indigenous digital interactive experience, saw him travel the globe, curating the works of rural, remote and urban artists to feature in the ever-evolving show. He was also part of Sydney's Vivid Festival in 2022. Wayne has created and curated hundreds of exhibitions throughout the world and has been published in more than 1000 magazines, books and newspapers.
