Reviews for Watercolour Flowers Step-by-Step

Authored by four professional artists, this book guides you through the process to paint beautiful blooms. Wendy Tait shows you the essentials for painting wild flowers, teaching you composition, whilst Jackie Barrass focuses on achieving light within your paintings. Richard Bolton explores more techniques, and Ann Mortimer provides expert advice on painting floral depiction in landscapes. Each section helps any artist create their own style using watercolours. * Crafts Beautiful * Drawing on previously published material from Search Press's Leisure Arts and Watercolour Tips and Techniques series, Watercolour Flowers: Step by Step includes advice from Wendy Tait, Jackie Barras, Richard Bolton and Ann Mortimer. Each of the artists has their own unique watercolour style so this book provides a wide range of information that will encourage you to paint successful flower paintings in a variety of ways. The book is divided into four sections: Wendy Tait focuses on wild flowers, Jackie Barras looks at how to achieve light in flower painting, Richard Bolton explores how to develop creative techniques and Ann Mortimer concludes by painting flowers in the landscape. There are also 12 projects for you to work through. * Leisure Painter - December 2020 * Watercolour Flowers Step-by-Step is a title that manages to stand out in one of the craft's most competitive fields. Giving crafters the chance to either establish or hone their card front florals, it's driven by a bundle of projects outlined with clear and concise instructions that manage to offer something to beginners, intermediates, and even experts. * Crafts Beautiful * Some inspiring projects, and a mix of techniques to try. They are good tutorials if you have some experience or understanding of watercolour. Overall I'd say an inspiring book with nice ideas. -- Sally Tunstall * Amazon *
