Piergiorgio Settembrini is a professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Milan, the President of the Emilio Trabucchi Foundation, and an advisor to Silk Biomaterials, SRL. He has previously been a professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Modena and Milan and Chair of Vascular Surgery at San Carlo Borromeo Hospital in Milan. He is a founding member of the Italian Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, a member of the European Society of Vascular Surgery, where he is a Distinguished Fellow and the Vice President of the Italian Chapter. For many years he also has been the representative of Italy to the European Board of Vascular Surgery of the Union Européenne des Médicins Specialistes (UEMS) and was named as Honorary Fellow of the European Board. He is the author of more than 250 journal publications and a reviewer for several vascular surgery journals, four books, and videos of surgical techniques. Alberto M. Settembrini is a vascular surgeon at Fondazione Ca’ Granda Ospedale Policlinico of Milan. He is an adjunct professor of Vascular Surgery at the Residency School of Vascular Surgery at the University of Milan and a fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgery. He is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Italian Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, and the European Society for Vascular Surgery, where he has previously been the National Representative of Italy to the European Vascular Surgeon in Training group. He is author of numerous journal publications and book chapters, and is the editor of two books.
