This report analyzes the potential for Nepal to transform its western Sudurpaschim Province into a sustainable tourism destination by stepping up investment in infrastructure and connectivity to improve access and underpin inclusive economic growth.
Based on an ADB study designed to pinpoint gaps and opportunities, the report shows how developing activities, creating hubs and itineraries, and promoting unique areas such the Khaptad National Park can boost tourism, particularly from neighboring India. It shows why strengthening the workforce, upgrading roads, and supporting eco-tourism ventures can unlock Sudurpaschim's potential and transform opportunities for communities in one of Nepal's poorest regions.
