Author Barbara Pierce began writing books for young people after retiring from teaching elementary school. She has published many, most of which are fiction. They cover a wide genre of subjects and reading levels. The author says writing books for children and the young at heart was a dream of hers during childhood. When asked what is her source of inspiration for writing her poems, she responds, ""life in general"". Her poems are reminiscent of a variety of life's experiences and others are purely imaginative fabrications woven into rhyming verse.
