Betsy Hester lives in Washington, North Carolina. TWENTY-ONE BOXES, her first book, is based on a subject she taught to high school English students for more than two decades. She holds a bachelor's in English Education from East Carolina University, has an advanced degree in ""Mindfulness for Educators"" from Antioch University, and is a nationally board certified educator. Betsy has been honored with numerous teaching awards and taught literature, writing, drama, research, and critical thinking to hundreds of students in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Now retired, she lives and writes from the home she shares with her husband of forty-two years, Joe, an attorney and the love of her life. They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, riding bicycles, gardening, and doing their part to save the environment. Robin is the central figure and subject of TWENTY-ONE BOXES. She was eighteen years old when the daycare scandal erupted in Edenton, North Carolina. While waiting for the case to be dismissed, she went on to earn a degree in medical technology, married the love of her life, and they raised her two boys together. Robin retired a few years ago and enjoys sharing a wonderful home in the country in eastern North Carolina with Eddie. Her boys and their families all live close enough to allow her to spend lots of time with her grandchildren. Her passion in life is her family, gardening, and playing with those grandkids.
"""Informative, important, powerful. Hester synthesizes her decades of passion and years of research around this miscarriage of justice into a captivating book that weaves together the story of one of the victims of this modern-day witch hunt with the vast and overlooked evidence exonerating the Edenton Seven."" --Maria Flanagan, Attorney at Law, North Carolina"
