Chike Akua, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Educational Leadership at Clark Atlanta University and an African-centered leadership strategist to colleges, universities, educational conferences, and urban schools internationally.Dr. Akua develops African-centered curriculum resources. As the author of eleven books, he has written and published several books and parent/teacher guides designed for today's students. Education for Transformation: The Keys to Releasing the Genius of African American Students is a book for teachers and leaders that is used in a number of urban school districts for professional development. It is also used in a number of colleges and universities for preparation of pre-service teachers and leaders. The book, ""Honoring Our Ancestral Obligations: 7 Steps to Black Student Success,"" is also used at numerous high schools, colleges, and universities by students and those who support them. Kazemde Ajamu is a visionary leader, community advocate, and lifelong champion for empowerment, education, and cultural pride. His name, Kazemde, meaning ""ambassador"" in Yoruba, reflects his life's mission: to be a righteous representative who fights for the betterment of his community. With deep roots in advocacy and a commitment to fostering trust and connection, Kazemde has dedicated his life to building spaces of empowerment and enlightenment for African Americans and the broader diaspora.Kazemde is the founder of the Black Dot Cultural Center and Bookstore, established in 2017 in Lithonia, Georgia. The center has become a hub for community engagement, celebrating Black culture, history, and literature while providing a space for education, dialogue, and connection. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, Black Dot has earned a reputation for excellence, with its coffee shop being named ""Best Coffee in Lithonia"" by Restaurant Guru and maintaining a high rating from patrons.In 2024, Kazemde expanded this vision by founding the Black Dot Cultural Center & Leadership Academy, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to catering to the needs of the community. The academy provides workshops, events, and leadership programs that promote literacy, personal growth, and collective progress. Through these initiatives, Kazemde continues to build spaces where individuals can connect, learn, and grow.As the Executive Director of The Urban Politician Alliance, Kazemde has led impactful voter engagement, policy advocacy, and economic empowerment initiatives. His programs, such as the Brick & Dollar Fund, have supported Black-owned businesses and fostered collective progress. Through his work with the Alliance, Kazemde has helped mobilize communities and shape critical elections in Georgia, advocating for transparency, accountability, and representation.In 2023, Kazemde co-founded the Black Men's Advocacy Alliance, a national organization focused on empowering Black men and addressing the unique challenges they face. This initiative amplifies the voices of Black men, fosters systemic change, and creates opportunities for leadership and success.Kazemde's passion for literacy and education is at the heart of everything he does. He is the founder of Black Dot Publishing Company (formerly Pages to Profit), where he helps independent authors bring their stories to life.
