Junyi Zhang is in the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering and Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation at Hiroshima University in Japan. His research fields include transportation planning, urban and regional planning, traffic engineering, environment and energy policies, tourism policy, and health policy. He is the author of more than 440 refereed papers in journals including Transportation Research Part A/B/C/D/E, Journal of Transport Geography, Transportation, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Energy Policy, Climate Change, Sustainable Cities and Society, Environment and Planning B, Tourism Management, and Journal of Sustainable Tourism. His most recent book is Transport and Energy Research: A Behavioral Perspective (Elsevier, 2019). Yoshitsugu Hayashi is Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and Global Smart City at Chubu University in Japan. He is the author of more than 230 peer-reviewed papers and 40 books. He is Former President of WCTRS, full member of Club of Rome and its chair of the Japan branch, President of Japan Association for Human and Environmental Symbiosis, Vice-President of Japan Society of Civil Engineers, Board member of the Engineering Academy of Japan, Associate member of Science Council of Japan, co-editor of Elsevier's journal Transport Policy and Associate Editor of Elsevier's Transportation Research Part D journal. His research areas include urbanization and motorization, smart growth, rail transit systems, Quality of Life, and smart transport and cities.
