This work reviews methods for the transfer and prediction of fracture resistance characteristics. Based on a literature survey, experimental data and computational work, the book discusses the application procedures for local approach, master curve methodology, toughness scaling models, dynamic fracture properties and notch sensitivity. There is a comprehensive review of proved recent methods for the transfer of fracture mechanical characteristics from smaller to standard specimen geometry that also considers the transfer of data from laboratory experiments to real components.
