When Martha Bray's husband Bob is killed in a devastating traffic accident in Skagit County, Washington, it smashes her world like a meteor striking Earth. The circumstances of the crash-the driver who'd caused the accident had a criminal history and was evading police-only underscore the tragedy. Bob was a respected Bellingham businessman and community member, but more than anything, he was Martha's beloved life partner, adored by his two sons and grandchildren. In Tragedy to Triumph, Martha navigates debilitating grief while somehow finding humor-and a measure of happiness-in everyday life. She eventually braves online dating on a bumpy and often hilarious quest to regain true love, only to find peace in the comfort of family, friendship, and faith.

Of all the jobs she's held, including that of Young Life leader, licensed assistant to realtors, receptionist at a large graphic design firm, and now granny-nanny to two of her four grandchildren, her favorite role was being Bob's wife. Reviews for Tragedy to Triumph: Rebuilding a Traumatized Heart

Martha's story touched me profoundly. It is a beautiful story of love and grace, and surprisingly . . . it is delightful! I devoured this book, barely able to put it down. With her winsome personality, and often unexpected response to grief, it is a story I will never forget. -Nancy Sprowell Geise, author with Jim and Lori Dultmeier of On Shattered Wings, A Family's Journey from Grief to Hope
