After studying English at university, Clare Harlow went to drama school and became an actor. A few years ago, she turned her love of storytelling from stage to page and became a writer too. She lives in south-east London, where she spends a lot of time walking by the river in the hope that a little Tidemagic might rub off on her.
""A young face-changer searches for her father in a town where magic’s power rises and falls like the daily tides. Brisk action, fiendish political chicanery, and magic with an intriguing twist."" — Kirkus Reviews ""Harlow’s debut has plenty for young fantasy readers to love, from the characters’ unique magical blessings to the wonderful old-town setting full of secret entrances, buried tunnels, and hidden streets. The mystery adds an extra layer of excitement. This well-paced fantastical mystery will keep young readers turning the pages."" —School Library Journal
