Richard Rogan, Times Crossword editor, was born in 1961. He comes from Northern Ireland, and attended Coleraine AI and Reading and Lancaster Universities, where he studied French. A crossword addict from an early age, he started compiling puzzles for his parents and gradually started having puzzles published, first in the Listener series in the Times. He became a regular setter for the Times Crossword in 2004, and gave up a career in IT to become the paper's crossword editor in 2014.
