Zvonimir Grbasic was born in 1951 in Karlovac, Croatia. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Zagreb and the Medical Officer School in Belgrade. As an illustrator, he worked for the magazine _Hrvatski vojnik_ (Croatian soldier) of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia, and then for military history magazines in Germany, France, Spain and The Netherlands. He co-authored three books: _The History of Cavalry_ and_Cavalry_ , both with V. Vuksic; and _Hrvati, slike iz ratnicke proslosti_ (Croats, the pictures from the warriors' history) with Mazuran, Radilovic, Trnski, Vuksic.
