""A valuable contribution to the literature on Roman generalship and on military leadership.""-- ""The NYMAS Review"" ""Despite this impressive and successful union of the military and political side of things, the focal point of the book remains a single aristocrat. This makes it all the more useful...""-- ""Ancient Warfare Magazine""
