By: Dr. Albert Bruce Pruitt, Pub. 1999, reprinted 2026, 500 pages, Index, Soft Cover, ISBN #978-1-63914-771-7. Bounty lands were grants of lands provided by the US Government to veterans who served in various military conflicts, including the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the Mexican War. The government offered these lands as both compensation and reward for military service. Veteran or their heirs could apply for Bounty Land, which then could be exchanged for vacant public lands. The size of the granted land varied in size depending rank and length of service. This volume covers 3,704 Revolutionary Land Warrants that were issued from 1784 to 1799. These Bounty Lands Warrants are NOT included in the 4-volume set of books of Tennessee Revolutionary War Bounty Lands by A.B. Pruitt. These warrants were thought to have been lost when Pruitt was compiling the original 7-part series. These abstract come from the TN Archives packet called ""Survey -abstracts Middle Tennessee"" and another set which covers 746 Warrants for North Carolina Continental Line in the year 1792. This volume should be in anyone's library that has the Original 7-part series, as it is considered its supplement or part 7A. The Full name index mentions approximately 6,200 individuals.
