When ""prophecy"" is just a database query-and the church knows but won't tell you.

In January 2026, a six-hour documentary by Christian apologist Mike Winger exposed what insiders had known for years: Shawn Bolz, one of the most celebrated prophets in the charismatic world, had been fabricating his supernatural ""words of knowledge"" using social media searches. The evidence was damning. The cover-up was worse.

This is the definitive investigation into the Bolz scandal-and the systemic failure of accountability in the New Apostolic Reformation movement.

WHAT THIS BOOK REVEALS:

The Method: How Facebook Graph Search, conference registrations, and basic OSINT techniques were transformed into ""divine revelation""-complete with documented examples and technical analysis The Cover-Up: A year-by-year timeline showing exactly when Bethel Church leadership learned about the fraud, what they did privately, and why they refused to warn the public for five years The Victims: First-person accounts of marriages entered, careers abandoned, and lives derailed by false prophetic words-including one woman who ""almost was killed"" in an abusive marriage she entered because Bolz told her ""God is giving you this man"" The System: How ""Culture of Honor"" theology, apostolic authority structures, and economic incentives combine to make prophetic accountability virtually impossible The Theology: Biblical analysis of what Scripture actually says about testing prophets, public rebuke, and pastoral responsibility-written from a confessional evangelical perspective

WHO THIS BOOK IS FOR:

Believers questioning charismatic leadership and NAR influence in their churches Pastors evaluating prophetic ministry practices Survivors of spiritual abuse seeking validation and resources Researchers studying contemporary religious movements Anyone who wants to understand how institutional religion protects its own

WHAT MAKES THIS BOOK DIFFERENT:

Unlike social media commentary or YouTube exposés, The Shawn Bolz Case is built on primary sources: official statements, leaked text messages, victim testimonies, and documented timeline analysis. The theological framework is rigorous but accessible, grounded in Scripture rather than denominational politics.

This is investigative journalism meets biblical theology-a hybrid approach that lets the evidence speak while providing the biblical lens to evaluate it.

A NOTE ON APPROACH:

This book does not deny that spiritual gifts exist. It does not attack charismatic belief. It examines what happens when prophetic authority operates without accountability-and why the same patterns keep repeating across the movement.

The goal is not destruction but reform. Not revenge but truth. Not cynicism but discernment.

""Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said."" - 1 Corinthians 14:29

FROM THE AUTHOR:

In August 2025, I began working on a broader project called False Prophets-about how ""prophetic"" trust is built and how people get misled. While researching, I came across the Shawn Bolz case. At first I didn't feel right publishing anything because I mostly had witness stories and rumors, and I didn't want to build conclusions on unverified claims.

When Mike Winger released his investigation in January 2026, it became clear there was enough public, documented information to re-check everything and handle it responsibly. I rewrote the manuscript and changed the title from False Prophets to The Shawn Bolz Case, because this case became the clearest example of the larger problem.

Big thanks to Mike Winger for his courage and the work he put into it.

Arthur A. Tiger is a writer and theologian who explores the territory where faith meets science, philosophy, and the mysteries of human experience. At the heart of his work stands the apostle Paul - a figure he returns to again and again, reconstructing lost epistles, reimagining Paul's voice for today, and tracing the depths of his radical transformation. Beyond Pauline studies, Tiger writes across an unusually wide range: from astrobiology and cosmology to psychology, relationships, and cultural criticism - always searching for the connections that unite these disciplines rather than divide them. His own journey from skepticism to faith runs through everything he writes. Rather than offering easy answers, he invites readers to discover that honest questioning and genuine belief are not opposites but companions - and that every scientific discovery is not a challenge to faith but an invitation to see it more clearly.
