Born during World War II in the Netherlands, Peter Hendriks and his wife, Louisa, immigrated to Calgary, Canada, in 1973 with their three children after his service in the Royal Air Force and their marriage in 1965. Peter worked as an engineer before studying pastoral ministry in Michigan and later served as a pastor in Northern Alberta and British Columbia. In retirement, they spent twenty years in Calgary, including nine years of annual mission work in Uganda and preaching across Southern Alberta. During this time, Peter authored four books; a trilogy: ""The Real Deal,"" ""The Right Deal,"" and ""The Royal Deal,"" and ""The Rainbow Letters.""
