The Routledge Handbook of Muslim-Jewish Relations invites readers to deepen their understanding of the historical, social, cultural, and political themes that impact modern-day perceptions of interfaith dialogue. The volume is designed to illuminate positive encounters between Muslims and Jews, as well as points of conflict, within a historical framework. Josef Meri is Academic Director of the Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations, Woolf Institute, Cambridge University. Born in the United States Dr Meri hails from a Jerusalemite family. He has travelled extensively throughout the Middle East and has lived in Cairo, Damascus, Jerusalem and from 2005-2010 in Amman, where he oversaw a major Qur’anic exegesis project at the Jordanian Royal Court. He previously held visiting appointments at the Institute of Ismaili Studies in London and the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Sectional Editor of Wiley-Blackwell's online journal, Religion Compass.
