“Mário Pinto de Andrade was a major figure in the history of debates about colonialism and decolonization. This collection of his essays is of great value both for the fresh light it sheds on the evolution of anti-colonial movements away from negritude and for what this tells us about contemporary debates on identity.” Jean Khalfa, University of Cambridge
