Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri, Sufi mystic and visionary, is an enlightened spiritual master whose life and works serve as a reminder that spirituality is a science and an art vitally relevant to our times. He grew up in an environment where religious scholars and Sufis were part of his formative experiences. His love and understanding of the universality of the Quranic message has imbued him with respect for other religions, spiritual paths and the ability to discern the common elements in our collective journey towards awakening. Born in Basra Iraq from a family of scholars, Adnan was schooled in Scotland in his early years. He spent his teenage years in Kuwait where he finished his undergraduate studies. He returned to Scotland for further study, full time research and work. This is where his spiritual journey and seeking began although his quest for deeper understanding was evident throughout his life. He works in the field of Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering and holds a PhD in Electronics Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. He is also an IEEE Senior Member. He is a frequent speaker at many international Sufi conferences and gatherings held in South Africa and in Europe and is a respected scholar and researcher in both his field of scientific study as well as spirituality and the Qur'an.
