As 'The Shark', Brydon is a star of The Chase, which reaches 470,000 viewers a night and, unprecedentedly, is a pre-news show that outrates all primetime TV. He also has a daily picture-bylined quiz in the Herald-Sun, Daily Telegraph, Advertiser and Courier-Mail newspapers, and another column in the nationwide rural newspaper The Weekly Times (circulation 450,000). He is also a regular on David Astle's ABC radio program. Since childhood, Brydon competed in TV game shows such as Sale of the Century, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Chase, before poacher turned gamekeeper. He was also a high-profile columnist for Cricinfo, the world's biggest cricket website.
