Delarious O. Stewart , EdD, LPC-S, LSSP, ACS, NCC, NCSC, NCSP, is a counselor educator, school district leader and licensed mental health professional with extensive experience across diverse educational and clinical environments. He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Child Development from Jackson State University. Dr. Stewart serves as an Assistant Professor of Counseling at East Texas A&M University, where he teaches both master's and doctoral courses in school counseling, mental health counseling, student affairs, and counselor education and supervision. With credentials as a professional school counselor, school psychologist, and licensed professional counselor across multiple states, Dr. Stewart brings a multifaceted perspective to his work. His professional experience includes roles such as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Director of Special Education, and Manager of School Psychology, where he has consistently fostered academic achievement and student development. Dr. Stewart’s scholarship is centered on culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices, particularly in supporting children and adolescents of color. His research has been published in various academic journals, and he has presented at numerous national and international conferences. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Stewart has authored books that address critical issues such as African American mental health and adolescent behavior. Throughout his career, Dr. Stewart has remained committed to advocacy and service, ensuring that underserved communities receive the support and resources they need to thrive. His work continues to shape the landscape of education and mental health, inspiring positive change within schools and communities.
