Nursing is a roller coaster of emotions, with its ups and downs. Nurses need to learn how to take care of themselves so that they can better care for others. If you are a nurse or plan to become one, and you are reading this, I want you to understand that you are not alone in the struggles you face. I want you, as a nurse, to be able to use this book as an interactive journal where you can write down your thoughts - whether from your work life or personal life - and relate to the stories and coping skills shared throughout. This will help you learn, or relearn, how to take care of yourself and rediscover just how amazing you are, both inside and outside of this career.

A dedicated registered nurse in her late 20s with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), the author has over two years of experience in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and emergency departments. Inspired by her aunt Doris's battle with cancer when the author was 11 years old, she pursued a nursing career to provide compassionate care to patients. Prior to obtaining her BSN, the author worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for several years, gaining valuable hands-on experience. She also had the opportunity to work in a hospital in Kenya, where she gained exposure to different healthcare systems and cultural perspectives. Since becoming a licensed nurse, she has worked in an observation unit, a clinic, med-surg, and currently in the ER. With a passion for continuous learning and improvement, the author has collaborated with nurses from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience to create a resource that addresses the challenges and triumphs of the nursing profession.
