Mary Jo Stanley, Ph.D., RN has been a nurse for over 35 years and in higher education for 14 years. Over the course of her career, Dr. Stanley has practiced in community, public, and school health settings, and in acute care in the ICU and PACU. She holds a Ph.D. in nursing with an emphasis in education from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Stanley is professor emeritus in the School of Nursing at California State University Stanislaus and Assistant Vice President for Accreditation and Academic Success at Colorado Mesa University. Charlene Niemi is a certified public health nurse and holds a school nurse services credential. For the past 30 years, she has taught hundreds of prelicensure and graduate nursing students. She is an associate adjunct professor at the UCLA School of Nursing and faculty emeritus at California State University Channel Islands. Dr. Niemi holds a Ph.D. in nursing from Azusa Pacific University.
