Illustrators Lisa Swerling and Ralph Lazar established Last Lemon Productions in 1999, which originates, produces, and licenses cartoon properties. Lisa studied politics, philosophy, and economics at England's Oxford University. She formerly ran her own graphic design business in London. Ralph studied law and economics at South Africa's University of Cape Town and the London School of Economics. He was formerly an investment strategist at Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse First Boston. Their wacky and curious characters, the Brainwaves, appear in many DK books.
