Marcus Plested was born in London in 1970. He read modern history followed by theology at Merton College, Oxford receiving his doctorate in 1999. He taught for many years at the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies and the Faculty of Divinity in Cambridge before moving to the USA in 2013. He has been a member of the Center of Theological Inquiry and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, and has taught, lectured, and published widely in patristic, Byzantine, and modern Orthodox theology. Demetrios Mavropoulos was born in Athens in 1944. He studied at the Theological School of Athens and at the feet of Demetrios Koutroubis. He has had a long career as a teacher and publisher, together with regular appearances on Greek television and radio. He was a member of the editorial team of the journal Synoro (1964-1967) and founded Domos Publications in 1978. He is the author of several books and numerous articles.
