The Lettering Workbook for Absolute Beginners

"Worth it - lizmiri I actually got this together with another lettering workbook but ended up liking this book much better than the other one. Somehow, it felt like it was more well thought out and put together. Paper quality was better than the other one (but that's not saying much cause the other book's paper was more newsprint-y and thin.) Overall, this book is totally worth it if interested in practicing hand lettering. Beautifully Done! - Daisy This is an excellent book for beginners! It's beautifully written, well formatted, easy to understand and follow. An absolute wonderful place to start! The author provides us with an introduction to calligraphy, terminology, tools, posture as well as tips and tricks to make your project a success. Also included are types of calligraphy, lettering and flourishes with practice sheets. Calligraphy is my weakness as I've always been fascinated with the magnificent script I've see in old manuscripts an old world letters. I couldn't be more delighted about this wonderful book. Perfect For Me - Nina Diab I've always had an interest in hand lettering and calligraphy, but never really learned how to do it. Anytime I wanted to do some fancy lettering for a card or a picture, I would draw it out as if it were a picture and then ink it in. I spotted this book and thought it would be a perfect introduction for an ""absolute beginner"" like me. And I did find it perfect. It explains everything in an easy way for me to understand the different types of lettering styles, tools to use, and the correct steps and techniques to writing each letter. I really enjoyed this book and will keep practicing until I can write as beautifully as this book teaches. I recommend picking this up to anyone wanting a good lettering workbook. 5 stars. Exceptional! - PS This is the book I wish I'd had when I first started! I'd tried to do too much too fast. By contrast, this book begins with the easiest skills, then the more difficult, and finally the most difficult. It's clear, concise, and logical. I love the 12 Day Lettering Challenge at the end. Kudos to rica_garden for this little gem. I'm going to look into what else they have to offer. Simply wonderful...!
