Thomas Henry Pope is a novelist, a journalist, an actor, a singer-songwriter and a teacher. He left Stanford to pursue a songwriting career in Hollywood. He recorded albums and performed on both coasts. Wanting to experience a full range of being alive, he has worked in California's vineyards, built timber-frame homes, raised a family, repaired motorcycles, lived off the grid, taught English to high school and foreigners, coached football, and run a business.
"""The Last Redwood Circus is a mythic love story: love of family, of community, and of the palpable spirit of the land that guides us to be greater than we ever imagined. Meticulously researched and vast in scope, it is a superbly written epic of heroism against all odds. With great sensitivity, Pope has drawn three flawed activists who take on the timber industry, corporations, and opportunistic politicians in defense of earth resources, decimated indigenous peoples, and ancient traditions of wisdom."" - Tom Joyce, award winning author of The Missing Peace ""Part thriller, part ode to all the precious legacies vanishing due to human greed, The Last Redwood Circus features a magical alchemy: a fascinating narrative that marries romance, conservation and sacrifice into a tale for our times.""- Damyanti Biswas, author of The Blue Bar and You Beneath Your Skin"
