Sawiris Cultural Award (Senior Writers category) for his short story collection The Tale of Yusuf Idris (2015). Egyptian Writers' Union Prize for his novel The Unholy Family's Journey (2018). His novel The Lamp and the Bottle was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Children's Literature (2018). His novel My Name Is Fatima was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Literature (2019), and the same novel was also longlisted for the Sawiris Cultural Award (2020). His short story collection Escape Outside the Head won first place in the Tayeb Salih International Award for Creative Writing (2021).
