Virginia Stokes has been a paster's wife for over 53 years.

Through heartwarming personal testimony, she talks about her childhood, family, life before and after marriage and the churches which she and her husband have served. She is honest about her struggles in her faith, as well as difficulties of moving on when God called them to a new church field. At times, she discovered it was hard raising children under the watchful eyes of an entire congregation and sometimes difficult to minister in face of harsh criticism. In the Journey of a Shepherd's Wife, Virginia fines her place in the communities and churches served and a way to use her talents for God. Women will find an ally in this shepherd's wife who knows what it is like to feel tremendous hurt as well as great joy in the ministry and the church. Listening to, praying with and being a part of others in their Christian journey, has brought great joy and reassured her of her calling and a love for the ministry and all God's people.
