Communication in counseling plays a vital role in the whole process. It helps the process to be effective and fruitful without communication the process would not even work because, both the counselor and the counselee would not understand each other. It is through communication both speak together. This communication can also be oral, with this understanding it is important to understand what communication is. It will be noted that communication is not just a one person show. The person must have others to whom he or she is communicating. It will also be important to be able to ascertain when communicating has taken place. One of the skills that is also highlighted in communication is listening.
