Over the last three years, Mike has spent countless hours researching the rich history of California Community College Wrestling-Junior College Wrestling. In this book he has compiled the results of the four regional state qualifiers; North Regional, North Central Regional, South Regional and South Central Regional.

In 1988, The California Community College Athletic Association (governing body) reduced the state qualifiers down to North Regional and South Regional. Along with compiling a large part of the qualifiers, Mike has compiled the California State Championships from 1957 to 2024. His research of the CCCAA or Junior College Wrestling has allowed him to share the rich wrestling history and bring forth the proud tradition of California wrestling. Mike Stricker has made numerous contributions to the sport of Wrestling through his life. As a founding executive board member and CEO of the Coyote Club, an amateur wrestling support group established in 1986, Stricker has led the organization in raising over $4 million in the last 39 years to support the ""the world's oldest sport."" In addition, he serves on various committees and associations, including the committees responsible for having his hometown of Bakersfield the home of state wrestling championships. Stricker was a founding member and officer of Kern County Wrestling Association from 1974 to 1984. He is an inductee of the California Wrestling Hall of Fame, the California Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the South Bakersfield High Hall of Fame.Stricker has been a competitor as a youth in high school and college, a wrestling referee, and a youth high school and college coach, and continues to support the sport as a fan, booster and fundraiser. In 2000, Stricker was honored with the prestigious Irv Olinger Award by the California Wrestling Coaches Association at the state wrestling championships in Stockton. In 2024 at the 23rd Annual California Wrestling Hall of Fame banquet, he was honored by being presented with the Lynn Dyche Legacy Award. His 30-year career began at Chico State under coaching legend Dick Trimmer. Stricker went on to coach with some of the finest coaches in the history of the Central Section, including Joe Seay, Art Chavez, Bob Lathrop and Eugene Walker.
