Victor E. Pricolo, MD, was born and raised in Italy, and graduated from Medical School in Milan. He completed his surgical education at Brown University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Mayo Clinic. A full Professor of Surgery at Brown Medical School by age 41, Dr. Pricolo was Chief of Colorectal Surgery and Director of Medical Education at Rhode Island Hospital until 2102, when he accepted the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Southcoast Health. He's an innovative researcher with over 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications, focusing on areas such as inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, patient's quality of life, and the crucial importance of doctor-patient interactions.
