Shanicia Boswell is an advocate for Black parenting, diversity, and helping women learn to put themselves first, in the midst of running her global parenting community of over half a million women, Black Moms Blog, and retreat company, The Self Care Retreats. Her bestselling book, Oh Sis, You’re Pregnant! was released as the #1 new release in Pregnancy and Childbirth and in Minority Demographic Studies on Amazon. Her passion and dedication has made her a sought out expert on parenting and self love. Shanicia has interviewed notable figures such as Michelle Obama and Meena Harris. Boswell’s perspective on motherhood and womanhood have been featured on OWN Network, Weekend Express HLN, Huffington Post, The New York Times, Washington Post, and Thrive Global. Shanicia has served as a panelist and speaker for notable conferences such as the Wellness Your Way Festival by Kroger and Proctor & Gamble, 21Ninety, and The Momference. Dr. Charis Chambers is a board certified OB-GYN and specialty certified pediatric and adolescent gynecologist. She attended Spelman College, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2010 with a degree in biology. She completed medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, followed by an OB-GYN residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital in 2018, where she was inducted into the prestigious medical society of Alpha Omega Alpha. She did her fellowship training in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in 2020. She launched her social media platform, The Period Doctor, in the summer of 2019, after recognizing an unmet need for medically accurate reproductive health information and minority physician representation on social media outlets. Since then, she has been featured as a medical expert on national television, as well as in digital media and print publications. She attributes her tenacity and resilience to her late mother who taught her again and again to speak up, laugh off the little things, and love without apology.
