She has since become a leading authority on the history of walled kitchen gardens. She has assembled a written, illustrated and photographic archive of over 700 walled kitchen gardens in the UK and Europe and written several books on the subject (including the definitive History of Walled Kitchen Gardens). She is a Vice-President of the Gardens Trust and Chair of the only website team which is devoted to walled kitchen gardens, the Walled Kitchen Garden Network. www.walledgardens.net.
