Alyson Brown founded her business, Wild Folk Flower Apothecary, in 2017 as a way to share her love of flowers with the world. Flowers became her life. She went on to work with the Central Oregon Wildflower Show to collect and identify wildflowers, host workshops weaving intentions of flowers into botanical creations, plan a flower-infused Solstice dinner in her backyard, design many flower crowns, and mix many flower-infused cocktails. Though she currently calls the high deserts of Central Oregon her home, she often refers to her southern roots and love for the beach, having grown up just minutes from the Gulf Coast beaches in Florida. She lives in Bend, Oregon, with her husband, two young boys, a black cat, and a fluffy dog. When she’s not mixing flower-infused cocktails, she runs a creative services business in which she specializes in brand photography and graphic design, and in her spare time she enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, and gardening.

Reviews for The Flower-Infused Cocktail: Flowers, with a Twist

"NetGalley Review: 4 stars Last updated on 11 Nov 2022 ""'The Flower-Infused Cocktail' by Alyson Brown is a beautiful book of cocktail recipes. As someone who has used edible flowers in cooking for years, incorporating them into flavour infusions in cocktails is a wonderful compliment to other culinary uses. This is definitely a book I'd recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a lovely tipple or expand their use of edible flowers in the kitchen. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review."" --Sylvia Barker, @BestLovedCookbooks NetGalley Review: 5 stars Las updated on 30 Nov 2022 ""The Flower-Infused Cocktail was the type of book I've always dreamed about having! If you have not had flower-based cocktails (or coffees, for that matter) you are absolutely missing out! The book began, as most drink recipe books do, with descriptions of the different types of glassware, bar tools and techniques, with the added addition of descriptions of the different aspects involved when cooking with edible flowers. I was wicked surprised by some of the options for edible flowers that were included in the book! Each flower was accompanied by a cocktail that gave the book a great sense of variety. I've never wanted to try every recipe in a cookbook that I've read, until The Flower-Infused Cocktail."" --Mallori Longevin, consumer reviewer NetGalley Review: 5 stars Last updated on 31 Dec 2022 ""A gorgeous and beautiful book filled to the brim with recipes and beautiful photos! I personally had a lot of fun trying to recreate these recipes!"" --Kirstyn Yosick, librarian"
