?The expansion of sources and subjects in the second edition of this volume enhances its value and usefulness as an overview of the Reformation movements in sixteenth-century Europe. With a judicious eye for precisely the telling moments in the original works of the reformers in their cultural context, and with sensitivity to historiographical issues currently under discussion, Lindberg makes a large number of shorter citations effectively lead students into key ideas and events in the unfolding of the Protestant and Catholic Reformations.?
