The Doctorate Blueprint is a practical guide, designed to help graduates and young academics in science and engineering navigate the complex journey of earning a PhD. The guide takes a comprehensive view of the doctorate process and covers all aspects, from understanding research and choosing the right methods to writing a dissertation and getting published.

The book also provides essential tools and advice on career planning, including how to write grant proposals and run a research lab. It serves as an essential companion for those beginning their doctoral journey, offering a clear roadmap from initial research to career planning beyond the PhD, with a focus on PhD candidates and advice for early-career academics with little to no experience supervising students.
