Reviews for The Cunning Folk's Book of Cottage Witchcraft: Spells, Charms & Traditions of Wild Folk Magic

""This is a rich personal medley of folk magic, Druidry, earth mysteries, and witchcraft with a strong practical element and ideally suited to the newcomer and the solitary practitioner."" --Ronald Hutton, professor, historian, and author of The Witch ""The Cunning Folk's Book of Cottage Witchcraft provides a wealth of information for aspiring witches and cunning folk. It covers such topics as the seasons, spellcraft, a variety of festivals, working with the Moon, plants, familiars, and fairies. Older magical knowledge is carefully balanced with the needs of the modern world and with the author's own experience. The book is clearly written from the heart, in an accessible style, giving it a genuinely authentic feel. It is sound, practical, joyful, and inspiring."" --Val Thomas, author of Hallowtide, a dark devotional, and Chalk and Flint, a way of Norfolk magic ""The Cunning Folk's Book of Cottage Witchcraft invites you into the home to live witchcraft as a lifestyle and not as a poetical pursuit. Moving around the home, Forest introduces you to the corners where spirits and familiars congregate, the spaces of power, the super in the natural, and equips you to engage in time-honored magic. As you align better with the energies of the normal and the fantastic, Forest outlines practices that integrate well with each other and suit any number of lifestyles. This will be a volume talked about for years to come."" --Ben Stimpson, author of Wise Ones and Ancestral Whispers ""Danu Forest has written an erudite, endlessly fascinating, and practical book that will be a welcome addition to any witch's shelf. Filled with knowledge, wisdom, and techniques, this is a book that the working witch will savour!"" --Ian Chambers, author of The Witch Compass ""DanĂº Forest's book is an absolute treasure trove of folk magic and one that will delight you with every turn of the page. Make yourself a cuppa and pull up a chair--the magic is about to begin."" --Rachel Patterson, witch and bestselling author of over 30 books including A Witch for Every Season
