Robert J. Driver, Jr., a retired Marine lieutenant colonel, is the author of 12 books on Virginia and Maryland Confederate soldiers, and an autobiography of his Marine Corps career, which includes two tours in Vietnam. He was the president of the Rockbridge Civil War Round Table for more than 30 years, and has written numerous newspaper articles. He lives in Farmville, Virginia.
