Arthur Edward Waite (1857-1942) was a respected mystic whose writings focused on the occult. He was co-creator of the world's most popular tarot deck - the Rider Waite Smith. Pamela Colman Smith (1878-1951) was a British artist, illustrator, writer and occultist, best-known for illustrating the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. She received little recognition for her contributions to the deck and her name was left off most editions. Today her talent is becoming more recognized and efforts are being made to restore her name to the project. Alice Ekrek is the secretary of the Sophia Committee, a body that supports the study of astrology in higher education. She has served on the Astrological Association Council for seven years, and guest edited a number of academic texts and publications about astrology and tarot. She lives in Somerset, England. Tania Ahsan has written for a variety of publications on occult subjects, as well as giving talks at events such as The Pagan Federation conference and Pendle Witch Camp. She is the former editor of astrology and occult magazine Prediction and also edited Kindred Spirit magazine. She has a lifelong interest in spiritual topics. She is author of Protection Charms, Everyday Calming Rituals and The Astrological Tarot. She has previously ghostwritten, edited and consulted on many famous tarot decks. She can be found online at taniaahsan.co.uk.
