Jay Adams is the brilliant founder of the modern biblical counseling movement. There is literally no author, professor, leader, or practitioner of biblical counseling currently serving that does not stand in the debt of Jay Adams. His entire ministry and corpus of work is worthy of careful study. I am so glad to learn that his essays and lectures, many of which have not been accessible for many years, are now being published anew. Biblical counselors who are serious about growing as competent counselors will welcome these volumes with me. You may not always agree with his slant of things, but you will always have one of two experiences. It will either be, ""Ah, that is very helpful."" Or, he will kick-start your further investigation of the issue thereby triggering your growth. As with any Jay Adams book, it is worth much more than the cost.
