"Nature's ""Symphony of Behavior"" In ecology, the concept of the ""Symphony of Behavior"" describes the complex relationships between the various organisms and environments in nature. These relationships are typically complex and stable, and they can be affected by a number of factors. The concept of the ""Symphony of Behavior"" was developed in the 1950s by German ecologist Hermann Ritter. Ritter compared the relationships between organisms and environments in nature to symphonies in music. Just as symphonies in music are composed of a variety of musical instruments, which together create a balanced and stable sound, so too in the ""Symphony of Behavior"" do a variety of organisms and environments together create a balanced and stable ecosystem.
