Born in Adelaide, Sam Mac started his career as arguably the worst Black Thunder driver in SAFM's history. The solution was to get him on-air to avoid any further damage to the vehicles. Sam went on to host breakfast shows, daytime shows, the national Hot30 Countdown from Sydney and later his own breakfast radio show in Perth on Austereo's Em & Sam Mac Show. But his true passion had always been for TV. While at university, Sam created his own community show titled Sam Mac's Single Bed, filmed from his one bedroom apartment. That hard work eventually held him in good stead for his big break with Channel Ten's The Project, where he hosted field segments and eventually the entire show from the desk. Around the same time, Sam co-hosted a comedy soccer show called The B-League on Fox Sports. He juggled this role with radio stints on Triple M and Nova in Sydney. It was 2016 when Sam was offered the TV gig of a lifetime, becoming the Sunrise weatherman. It's the role he was born for. His combination of humour and heart has seen him gain hundreds of thousands of fans across the country. He's stripped naked for charity, released a hit song with The Wiggles and has even taken his cat to the Logies when he was nominated for gold. The beauty of Sam Mac is that you can never truly predict what he's going to do next...
Entertainment biographies aren't rare, but if cats, crazy stunts and a touch of humanity count for much, and you haven't read one in a while then 'Accidental Weatherman' is a reasonable place to start.--VIC [PRINT], The Horsham Times, [AUDIENCE: N/A, ASR: AUD 551] It's a romp of a read as he charts how he went from being a funny bloke from Adelaide who knows nothing about meteorology to becoming the weatherman on the highest rating breakfast-TV show in Australia.--Jenna Clarke, WA [PRINT], Sunday Times, [AUDIENCE: 168,008, ASR: AUD 3,229] Recommendation--VIC [PRINT], Sunraysia Daily, [AUDIENCE: 7,268, ASR: AUD 505.3]
