Reviews for Systemic Diagnosis: The Application of Family Systems Theory

Systemic Diagnosis is a must read for family therapy practitioners. In pointing out the flaws in other diagnostic models, Priest shows how theory-driven diagnosis sets the stage for effective systemic intervention. This book demonstrates each step of the systemic diagnosis model and equips readers to use it in their own practice. With great examples and guided practice, Priest makes difficult concepts easy to comprehend. The icing on the cake is that Priest writes like he's talking to a good friend, making it incredibly engaging. Five stars for this much needed book! Rebecca A. Cobb, PhD, LMFT, Associate Clinical Professor and Clinical Coordinator, Couples and Family Therapy, Seattle University Systemic Diagnosis: An Application of Family Systems Theory is a strongly recommended reading for all family therapists. Jacob Priest gives the reader a rich and thorough presentation of the possibilities and difficulties with the diagnosis systems at the same time as he suggests a systemic diagnosis system, rooted in family systems theory. The way systemic theory is transcended into the field of diagnosis is masterly done. A presentation for the next generation of therapist.
