This catalogue lists 162 genera comprising 1090 species and subspecies which have been described since Linnaeus (1758) until the cutoff date of December 1991. Extensive data are presented on taxonomy, nomenclature, synonyms, geographical distribution, host plants, biology, and economic importance of the species.
