Vincent Sabourin is a full professor of strategic management at the School of Management (ESG) of the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). He has been teaching at multiple executive levels, including the MBA for Science and Engineering. He served as director of the Department of Strategy, Social, and Environmental Responsibility and was a commissioner on the University’s Academic Affairs Commission. Dr. Sabourin’s expertise in strategic management is widely recognized. He serves as Chairman of the Consortium for Innovation, a nonprofit research and educational network devoted to innovation and management. Governments and businesses regularly consult him for his strategic insight. He led the Promising Plastics project for the Canadian Federation of Plastic Producers and has delivered keynote addresses at numerous conferences on advanced plastics, innovative technologies, and the Internet of Things. His reputation as a strategy expert was confirmed when he was selected as one of 25 Canadian experts in strategic planning to participate in a doctoral dissertation at HEC Montréal. He has been invited as a distinguished speaker at global forums, including the International Federation of Information Technology for Travel and Tourism (IFITT) and the Academy of Management of China. Professor Sabourin's academic influence extends well beyond the classroom. His research, published in books, chapters, peer-reviewed journals, and conference proceedings, has made significant contributions to the fields of strategy and innovation management. His most recent books, including Strategic Management for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry: Developing a Competitive Advantage (CRC Press, 2022), IoT Benefits and Growth Opportunities for the Telecom Industry (CRC Press, 2022), and The Future of the Medical Plastics Market: Opportunities for Growth (Routledge, 2021), are not just theoretical, but offer practical insights. He is also the editor of Strategic Monitoring and Innovation Management Practices (PUQ, 2022), which includes a chapter on 5G technology. Significant achievements mark Professor Sabourin's academic journey. He holds a diploma in industrial psychology from McGill University, a master’s in administration from HEC Montreal, and a Ph.D. in strategic management from McGill University, where he studied under the esteemed Professor Henry Mintzberg. He also published several book chapters, including Blockchain and the management transformation of business models in the financial services industry (2020), a chapter commissioned by the publisher. He authored ""Identification and Categorization of Disruptive Innovations According to the Strategic Scope of the Firm"" in the Handbook of Research on Disruptive Technology and Critical Explorations for Innovation Management, published by IGI Global.
