Storm Chaser is a magical book full of stunning photographs taken by Mike Oblinski as he fuels his 'addiction' to tracking the most violent hurricanes and tornadoes in the U.S.. He often travels hundreds of miles in a single day to capture his stunning images. He started photographing storms in 2008 and his hobby has subsequently taken him to remote areas of Arizona, Kansas, Colarado, Oklahoma, Texas and California where the true scale of the weather formations can be captured. His favourite images are of swirling supercell storms as their unusual structure gives them an otherworldly feel - almost like an alien spacecraft hovering on the skyline. It's hard to describe why I'm drawn to weather and storms, it's just what I've known my whole life. When I was little I would watch storms with my dad on the patio and grew up learning about them. It wasn't until later in life that I really got interested in storm photography and started learning more about it and things exploded from there.

In 2011, professional photographer Mike Olbinski witnessed an incredible sandstorm over Phoenix, Arizona and the time-lapse video that resulted from this catapulted him in to the media spotlight. Commissioned by ESPN, The Weather Channel and Al Gore's office for use in climate change videos, this became the turning point for Mike's photography career. A wedding photographer by trade, Mike has since had his storm photography and videos licensed by ESPN Superbowl adverts, National Geographic, Arizona Cardinals, State Farm and Marvel Studios culminating in an Emmy Award in 2017. Mike currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and three children and runs workshops, storm chasing tours and mentoring sessions.
