""Stomach and Navel-Cord Culture is a profound work on African identity, spirituality, and caregiving. Dr. Ejiogu bridges tradition and modern realities with rare insight. As he writes, 'The challenge of maintaining cultural heritage and integrating into a new culture ... causes spiritual and mental challenges' (p. vi). Highly recommended."" -Dr. Samuel Ekpo, Pastor, RCCG Throne of David, Zoetermeer, The Netherlands This book explores the experience of African people living in the Netherlands and how their pluralistic sharing culture is often in conflict with the Dutch autonomous individualistic private-owner culture. Godian Ejiogu's revelatory research reveals why Black minds matter, not only in health care, where it is vital, but also in academic institutions, where the mind is groomed, developed, and formed, and how this directly impacts the work and success of spiritual caregivers. This book exposes what Black people feel and sense but often do not understand how or why they are unable to find balance in their family and community life for themselves, personally.

Do you know why, when you leave Africa, Africa never leaves you? This book provides insight into the true image, the soul of Africa, and its cultural foundation. Real growth in life comes through developing mutual dependence. Human beings are meant to flourish in relationship, with community lifestyle as the ultimate purpose of life.

You may be African: the new definition of culture and Africa provided in this book has nothing to do with skin color or physical characteristics. It connects to the content of your soul and mind. If Africa is born in you, you are an African. To know this, you need to read Stomach and Navel-Cord Culture and discover what can be born in you to become Africa.

Godian Ejiogu is a spiritual caregiver and pastor who works at God Peace Ministry Church and Peace Servant.
