Sarah T. Meltzer, Ed.D., received her first bachelors degree from Wittenberg University and continued her education with a bachelors, a masters, and a doctorate from Florida Atlantic University. She holds a Florida teaching license in grades one through twelve with a concentration in science and biology. Sarah's interest in technology began as a classroom teacher experimenting with the integration of technology in curriculum through early software activities such as desktop publishing and simple spreadsheets. As a school district instructional technology support teacher, she was able to work with teachers across the district. She then began working as a project manager and educational consultant for Riverdeep Interactive Learning (now Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). With this experience, she was able to work with not only teachers, but also principals and superintendents around the country, to assist them with improving their technology plans to include effective professional development. Today Sarah is an assistant professor at Western Carolina University and works with pre-service teachers. In addition, she is an educational consultant and assists principals and school district administrators with developing and implementing professional development. Sarah lives in the mountains of western North Carolina with her husband, dog, and three cats. She enjoys hiking, reading, sewing, and quilting. meltzerst@aol.com
